Prior to founding XL Education, Mr. Steinberg founded InPhonic, the largest seller of wireless phones and communications products and services on the Internet, with annual revenue in excess of $400 million. InPhonic was #1 on Inc. 500 list of fastest growing companies in 2004, the year it went public on the NASDAQ. Mr. Steinberg also served as chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Cellular, a B2B and retail wireless communications provider, and Sterling Communications, a communications telemarketing company. Mr. Steinberg was named the Greater Washington Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for communications in 2002. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Faster Cures of the Milken Institute, and the Greater Washington Sports Alliance as well as the Board of Trustees of Washington & Jefferson College Mr. Steinberg holds a B.S. from Washington & Jefferson College.
Prior to joining XL Education in connection with the Company’s acquisition of Spire Vision, Mr. DiMaio spent several years as a Senior Vice President and partner of TranzAct Media. During that time, he forged relationships with the largest publishers and advertisers in the online space and built ongoing campaigns for Sprint, BMG, Matchmaker and many others. His vision and leadership helped TranzAct become a leading provider of online marketing solutions. Prior to co-founding TranzAct, Mr. DiMaio developed a prominent reputation in the online space as a Sales Manager for Freeride.com, a leading online marketing and loyalty site. Mr. DiMaio managed a small sales force that was responsible for a significant percent of the company's online sales. Before joining Freeride, he worked in Finance for Quick & Reilly Investments and Alliance Capital, earning the Series 7, 63 & 65 licenses. Mr. DiMaio holds a B.S. from Boston College.
Prior to joining XL Education, through Ward Media’s acquisition by the Company, Mr. Friedman served as the Director of Business Development for Silver Carrot Incorporated in New York, an Internet marketing company. Before Silver Carrot, Mr. Friedman was a Partner and Vice President of Sales at New Aspect Corporation, a company that developed 360 degree photography and CD ROM brochures for hotels and facilities. Mr. Friedman served as Vice President of Operations at Modern Plastic Bags from 1997 to 1999. Mr. Friedman holds a B.A. in finance from Yeshiva University.
Mr. Neuner joined XL Education in connection with the Company’s acquisition of Spire Vision. Prior to that time, he spent several years managing search engine, partnership and affiliate marketing programs for WebMD. Prior to WebMD, Mr. Neuner negotiated and managed strategic partnerships with AOL and MSN for CDNOW/Bertelsmann AG. Mr. Neuner holds a B.S. from Cornell University.
Mr. McGuinn serves as the head of Sale & Marketing. He came to XL Education when it acquired Ward Media. While at Ward Media he headed daily operations, driving revenue to three-fold growth over two successive years. Mr. McGuinn came to Ward with more than thirteen years of Sales and Marketing experience. Other prior positions included Senior Account Manager at Venture Direct Worldwide, Vice President of Westrock Advisors and Chief Operating Officer of the Thornwater Company. Mr. McGuinn holds a B.S. in Finance from the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University.
